Welcome to Manage Your Headache

Headache is one common ailment that causes pain and agony to each one of us and rarely would you find somebody who has not suffered from this malady at some point of their life. Some of us suffer from headaches at the minutest instance, like going out in the sun or rain, and some suffer from it on a regular basis. Sometimes, it is so severe that we seek medication and at times it is enough to just rest for the headache to subside. Though no standard theory for the cause of headaches has been confirmed yet, there have been many advances in methods to either prevent or manage headaches.

At ManageYourHeadache.com we can help you to manage your headaches so that it neither disturbs your day to day life nor does it need you to seek medical help. ManageYourHeadache.com explains the various types of headaches, how to recognize the headache symptoms, and also tells you how you can manage the different types of headaches.

One of the most common forms of headaches and one that can easily be prevented is the Tension headache. It is usually felt as a slight, nagging pain that is not very severe yet quite exasperating when one has to suffer it. Not being a result of any underlying disease, it is called a primary headache. Managing tension headaches is quite simple in most cases. It is usually the result of stress at home or workplace, emotional upheaval of any kind, like a death or sickness of a friend or family member, any shocking news, or even failure or loss of any kind.

Following a healthy lifestyle, de-stressing and finding the right nondrug treatment, which is effective to you, and regular yoga and breathing exercises, are some methods to manage tension headaches.

The most common Headache symptom is of course the pain. The severity and the point of pain depend on the kind of headache it is and whether it is a primary headache as in tension headache or Migraine headache or a secondary headache in which the pain is a symptom of an underlying disease.

A Migraine headache is one of the more common types of headaches and almost 10-15% of people suffer from chronic Migraine headaches. It attacks intermittently and usually lasts for a short span of time. Migraine headaches are believed to be due to some malfunction in the nerves that provide facial sensations causing the blood vessels to bleed leading to inflammations. The Migraine headache lasts as long as the inflammation lasts. Other reasons could be anything from strong odors to excess sleep or the lack of it, to any kind of allergens.

Some women suffer migraine headaches during their menstrual periods. Some of the common symptoms of Migraine headache are nausea, irritation to light and/or sound, blurred vision etc.

A Cluster headache is more painful and agonizing than other headaches. Its attacks occur in bouts of long-lasting frequent attacks and differ from person to person. Occurrence of cluster headache is quite rare and men are more prone to it. Though it is not life threatening, it is terribly painful and a sharp and piercing pain can assail the person within minutes without warning. Cluster headaches are usually accompanied by running nostrils, restlessness, depression caused due to no or lack of sleep and no symptoms are visible before the cluster headaches begin.

Headache therapy depends on the kind of headache you are suffering from. In the case of tension headaches, simple medication can resolve it. But in the case of migraine headaches or cluster headaches, some or all of these options might be needed, like changes in lifestyle, medications, yoga and breathing exercises, and sometimes alternative treatments.
